Why coming to you matters most for a migraine

Light, noise and motion make a migraine worse, and a drive to urgent care or an infusion center means all three. We come to you instead, so you can stay in a dark, quiet room while the bag runs.

Good for migraine, tension headache, light and sound sensitivity

What is in the bag, and why

The formula combines medications commonly used for migraine relief in urgent and emergency care: an anti-inflammatory pain medication, an anti-nausea medication, magnesium, an antihistamine and a steroid, with B vitamins, amino acids and fluids. Giving them intravenously matters because migraine often brings nausea and a slow stomach, which can make tablets less reliable. Your nurse practitioner decides which components are appropriate for you after reviewing your history and what you have already taken.

Some headaches need an emergency room

A sudden, explosive headache that peaks within a minute, the worst headache of your life, a headache with fever and a stiff neck, new weakness, numbness, slurred speech, confusion or vision loss, or a headache after a head injury — call 911.

If migraines are a pattern

A drip helps with the attack in front of you. If you get them often, it is worth looking at what sits underneath — for some women, hormonal shifts are part of the picture. Our nurse practitioner offers a free 15-minute call to talk through hormone and metabolic care.

Questions

I already took my migraine medication. Can I still book?

Yes. Tell us what you took and when; your provider factors it into what goes in the bag.

Can I have the migraine drip while pregnant?

Pregnancy is not automatically a barrier. Your provider reviews your history first and adjusts or leaves out any ingredient that is not appropriate — some anti-inflammatory medications, for example, are avoided in pregnancy.

How long does it take?

Most infusions run 30 to 45 minutes. We stay the whole time and pack everything out when you are done.

Do you come to Park City as well as Salt Lake?

Yes — Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, Summit and Weber counties, with no travel fee.
